About the Role
Penta (formerly Hume Brophy) is recruiting a new member of our EU team to support our expanding portfolio of clients working on sustainability policy. This will be an excellent opportunity for a candidate with 3-5 years of public affairs and communications experience to play a key role in the next phase of our growth.

Penta works with clients to solve complex global challenges by providing data-led solutions for stakeholder strategy and engagement. Our Brussels team is sector-led, using proprietary data to define political, regulatory and campaigning strategies that deliver results for our clients.

Core responsibilities 

  • Managing a team of highly motivated, ambitious early career colleagues 

  • Working with our intelligence tools to develop relevant insights on the reputation of a company or sector 

  • Maintaining an awareness of current affairs and external developments, relevant to Penta business and client objectives

  • Developing a network of relevant contacts 

  • Contributing to business development, including researching proposals and promotional opportunities and contributing to the organisation of Penta event

About You

The ideal candidate 

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, dynamic and have a strong desire to develop into a key player in an integrated, international service offering for clients. The ideal candidate will further have:

  • 3-5 years’ work experience on EU affairs, ideally on chemicals, circularity, sustainability or environmental policy 

  • An ability to manage a team of consultants, working to tight deadlines with high client expectations 

  • A strategic, curious mindset, always thinking about what’s next 

  • A commitment to the highest professional standards, always looking to go above and beyond client expectations 

  • An ability to work flexibly, and collaboratively, managing multiple priorities with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment  

  • First-rate analytical and communication skills

  • An interest in data and in learning to integrate it into communications consultancy

  • A track record of developing strong networks

  • Excellent English with other European languages a bonus is fine

  • Excellent attitude and enthusiasm for Penta, our clients and our ambitions

  • Previous agency and/or EU institutions or national government experience is considered an advantage.
